Anyone see the new Harley bobber yet? They call it a softail crossbones.
Needs some custom work to trick it out but I already love it.

  2. Beautiful Springer! The only things I don't like are the rear fender and non-dual exhaust.

  3. Like it, still working on the wife to let me get one.

Better in the styling department (FINALLY) from Wisconsin. I like the springer seat and the forks, but the handle bars...my god! Couldn't they take a few more design hours? I say ditch those near-buckhorn bars and put a simple straightbar or perhaps a clubman set on that.

The dual exhaust works for it, and +1 for keeping the wire wheels! But, they STILL need to cut down that rear fender. Makes the springer saddle look like an afterthought, although I'm glad they didn't add a pillion seat. Also, bonus on the solitary headlamp...looks sharp there.

All in all, a fine start for reviving the US marque. I myself still won't drop the insane ammount of money on one of these bikes for what you get, but at least they're going back to what makes American bikes unique.

Myself? I'll stick to Piaggio bikes.

Last year when I was in Mesa I talked my brother into buying this beautiful
Softail Duece that was on sale for like 15k.

All I could afford brand new back in 2002 was this 1200cc Sportster Custom.
Since then I've chromed it out pretty good but haven't taken a picture yet.

Understandable on the Italian front, but I've owned BOTH breeds and can understand the fun and feel of the both. Although, in the end I select the pasta-powered rides myself:

My CURRENT bike: 2006 Vespa GTS250ie with Coach Leather option and touring boxes (pannier boxes aren't in the pic but look like skinny versions of the topcase:

And my old bike (back when I was making good money as a Stage Manager): 1996 HD Sportster 883. Sold a while ago to get the Stella (a Vespa PX150 custom), and then my current bike.

Two completely different rides, but still both fun! Although I could never get scooters out of my blood, even with the American side of the family's dyed in the wool HD men to the biggest extent. Which is ironic considering my father rides BMW :p

Oh, and as for the snuff shots: I agree with the gallery. No room for that crap. We ALL know helmets save lives, and I'm pretty sure most riders on here have a selection of lids considering the average shooter who does so for sport tends to be a stickler on safety, so we don't need a lecture.....or gratuitous violence.

  19. All those nice looking bikes bring back memories of my younger days when all I had was motorcycles!
