Exciting development; I would love to see more states pull power back from the federal government.

Best case would be that this would pass and Montana would become a "test case" to prove that allowing reasonable access to full-auto, silencers, etc will not lead to massive crime sprees and the end of the world.

All the articles like this are great. But for so long the politicians of our country have had no back bone, were spineless cowards and I have a hard time believing that they all of a sudden have grown one.
I hope I am wrong, because this country needs some leaders that will hold the government to the letter of the Constitution and then walk away and take the state with them when the Federal cheese heads in Washington screw up.
I hope this is real cause we need this.

MT and WY have both threatened to revoke thier state contracts if the gov takes and further action against gun owners as it would violate the contract the gov has with the states. Heck WY came very close to a seccession vote a few years ago.

If you're talking about casino machines, then you're probably one of the few people in the state that would never have to worry about losing their job.

Based on what I read this morning, this new law has already passed its first reading in the House, with the House endorsing it by a vote of 64-36 and looks like it will pass with ease in the Senate that is Republican controlled....

Here is a story in one of our papers this morning.

SD and MT have a unique video lottery system designed by VLC Inc. they are the only two states like it that have that type of technology. techs familiar with the system are few and far between. almost everybody working at my job have had job offers from MT becuase they lack people with adequate electrnics dignostics skills to work on the machines. as it is in SD i could walk into any video lottery operator and have a job on the spot.

Thanks much for posting this! This is an awesome stand that Montana is taking, and I, for one, am glad to see that folks still want to stand tall and stand fast for the virtues of liberty that we all enjoy and should use and protect responsibly.

I just hope that a contented balance can be found between the seeming struggle for state power vs. federal power. There has already been one war (American Civil War) fought in this country over this struggle, and you'd think that we would have reached a balance by now. The truth is, we DO need a central government in some form to provide for our common defence, standardize national systems like transportation and currency types, and to help regulate national trade and immigration, amongst a handful of other delegated roles and responsibilities. I agree that we do need a central government; HOWEVER, I also agree that this government MUST abide by the limitations that have already been set forth in our U.S. Constitution. It shall NOT assume any further control or power over its citizens other than the powers already delegated to it. I would also agree that it is quite apparent that our current federal government has vastly exceeded those powers and has overstepped its proper boundaries. The federal government should be set in its place to stop any further infringement on our liberties. I would like to think that cool, rational heads are present amongst our representatives, and that these logical folks will help find a solution to ensure the states' rights while still allowing our central government to operate under the areas that it needs to in order to protect our nation.

...However, who knows what the future will hold...

...That's my take on this. Thank God we still live here in OUR country, the United States of America. Mods and Admins, please feel free to contact me or edit this post if you feel that I have said anything here that is unacceptable. I will gladly modify anything you need me to in order to stay compliant with the Code of Conduct, should it be found that I have somehow strayed outside of its guidelines. Fellow members, please help our Mods and Admins out by keeping your posts civil. Say what you want to in a respectful manner, and all will be well. And, above all, THANK YOU guys for keeping everyone informed here on our forum in a polite manner. I have been dutifully impressed as of late by the members who have posted controversial topics and information in an appropriate manner. Keep up the great work, and I would like to say that I am proud to have you guys as fellow members.

Later, all!!!

I think i need to move, although Missouri is very gun friendly.
Agreed, and it looks like things could get better for us this year of President Osama and his hoard of ghouls dont run rough shot over the US Constitution and convert the entire country in to a communist state. If you live in Mo as I take it you do. Hold your ground. This is one of the best states in the Union where your 2nd Amendment rights are concerned.

Yea to what Jag said. (That Lawyer thingie is showing again LOL)

I would like to see this spread across this great country. I would like to see the federal government be more representative and less democratic (Not talking about the party)
Oops getting into politics.

Anyway, yea for MT
