I used a tan base coat then cut some branches off a small palm tree then sprayed with od green while holding the branches in random spots then switched to black and repeated then dusted it with a mist of the tan

Yea, I've even read where some people bake it on at a low temp for a short time. Mabye a quick search would turn something up for you.
You've gotta explain the process on how you did that. It looks REALLY good.
