Really? I can't find one online for less than $270.I bought used about six months ago for $200. It's a little high since you can get a new one at walmart for $207, but the engravings got me intrigued on it.
It's a 500Ahi_pointy, does it say 500A or 500B?
crown grade was a "looks" upgrade for those who used them for entry level skeet. some had adjustable stocks, some had other options. the basic gun is exactly the same as a regular 500. Cost about an extra 25-40$ when new, doesnt bump the used value more than 10$ and only then in NIB condition.I think thats a crown grade next step up from the standard..maybe $30-$40 more initially.
I really doubt that Mossberg makes a crappy version of the same gun, to sell at Walmart. No matter what the local gun shop guy tells you.Sure can. Rifles and shotguns, although I suspect like all Wal Mart products they aren't first quality..but hey they have warranties.
No I didn't mean a crappy one I said not first quality all manufacturing ends up with cosmetic defects etc, I was just throwing it out there because WalMart negotiates special products with most if not all vendors to keep their price pints where they are and unfortunately they are big enough to do that. This wasn't a LGS "stay away from there" thing, just my own opinionI really doubt that Mossberg makes a crappy version of the same gun, to sell at Walmart. Thanks SW I figured it was just a cosmetic upgrade but didn't know for sure to say that. Just knew it was next one up. 8)crown grade was a "looks" upgrade for those who used them for entry level skeet. some had adjustable stocks, some had other options. the basic gun is exactly the same as a regular 500. Actually they do. the guns sold at wal-mart are the guns that have small cosmetic defects that make them "seconds" to the standard line. if there is a blemish of some sort in teh finish etc it goes on a b grade pile that goes to the wholesalers like wally.I really doubt that Mossberg makes a crappy version of the same gun, to sell at Walmart. That is good to know, but is it fair to say that, aside from some cosmetic blemish, Mossberg wouldn't want to sell in inferior weapon at Walmart or anywhere else?Actually they do. the guns sold at wal-mart are the guns that have small cosmetic defects that make them "seconds" to the standard line. if there is a blemish of some sort in teh finish etc it goes on a b grade pile that goes to the wholesalers like wally.I really doubt that Mossberg makes a crappy version of the same gun, to sell at Walmart.
