I'll play.... Both custom rifles.....cut my teeth on the black DPMS upper and lower (the only two remaining factory parts). Then, I graduated to the CMT billet set and built one of the most amazing rifles I've ever seen or shot. I love them both!
Very Nice! Lefty, Eh? I have a work in progress (MSR), and a CQB model I'm setting up. I might grace the non-Dark Rooms with a pic or two as it gets closer. How do you like the magnifier on the swing arm with the EOTech, Paul?
Lefty....yes, indeed! I love the ease of the magnifier to tilt off to the side. The lever arm is tight and has a very positive feel in both the up and to-the-side positions. My only regret was buying the two-dot EOTech instead of the four-dot. I have a 557 that uses the four-dot....and it's much handier!
Paul, you have excellent taste and style... I'm more a K.I.S.S. Practitioner, myself... Here's a little teaser shot of the conversion from a standard AR carbine to the M.S.R.
Nothing fancy here. Just your basic M&P 15 with replacement Magpul forward grips and a Nikon scope set up.
more MSR pix It's labeled "complete MSR" but I really am waiting on a 20 MOA scope riser, and I had to take it all back apart because I do not have a case that will fit! Without further ado...
The front grip was just on there for "gits and shiggles" and the red dot will not be used either. I may use an auxiliary sighting device until I get used to the big Mega-Mag Scope But I doubt that will be necessary. At 8x it will be fine to locate what I need to see, I believe. Then crank it up until I can get my shot! Also, still got a monopod coming then it will be ready for Final Assembly. That handguard also takes special rails, looks like the screw holes are on 50 mm centers... I got a Ruger Rail to fit, it has 3 holes, but only 2 work, and just barely I have to contact CDNN about this Monday, it is a DPMS barrel but the forend is not marked. I just need 1 rail for the bipod mount, or so I think...
Get that red dot off the scope, it's channeling mall ninjas. I'd go with 45 degree offset irons, or that unit. But stacking stuff up...ugh. Glad it's just for the pics.
It's GONE!!! The whole gun is really too heavy for 45* BUIS, I'd DEFINITELY need a broomstick! I actually ordered a 20" FLUTED Barrel, but they sold out and the website did not reflect the fact. This will be a benchrest shooter, or field gun. Not very tactical, or CQB I see you doggin' me BRANTH!!
I'm hoping it's the lighting in the picture, but it almost looks like there's 10 different colors on the gun in that picture. The stock, the scope, the red dot sight, the rails, the hand guard, the lower, the grip and the upper all appear to be different colors.
Hmmm.....maybe after I get a carbine, I can work towards getting a lower receiver and go from there? :what:
Mine is a pre-Remington Bushmaster, A1 carry handle sights, I added the A1 style hand guards to make it more like my 1980's issued weapon. I had a Delton Light Sporter, but I traded it for a Glock 20 and a very large pile of ammo. I think my next AR will be a .308, or maybe a 6.8 or a 6.5 Creedmore.
Is it "real" 10mm ammo or 40 S&W Long? I shot my son's G20 with Buffalo Bore, and it was rather lively! IMO a G20 is too light for the "real 10mm" I was shooting 6-8" groups at 10 yards, a bit wide for my taste!
