Greetings all. Just got a 995 but haven't gotten a chance to shoot it yet. Found this forum before I bought it and after reading up on the thing, decided to buy one. Of course I already have a question. Tried the search function but didn't find out anything. My question is LUBRICATING the 995. I took the gun apart following great directions found here and cleaned things up. The only thing I could think of to lube was to put some gun grease on some rub marks where the action slides together. Where and what do you all use to lube the gun?
BTW, I own 2 Sigs (226/9 and 229/40), a S&W 686 (.357 cal), a 1911 .45, a Ruger MkII but only 1 rifle (10/22) so my knowlege of rifle maintenance is pretty little so I look forward to reading about how to clean and lube my new 995. Thanks in advance.

Welcome Mr Goodwrench!

Lubing is pretty easy. I haven't cleaned my 995 in about 2000 rounds, and that's what the factory suggests for a complete tear down and clean. When I do lube it, I just put a few drops of oil on the contact points for the bolt and that's about it.

Happy shootin' with your new 995!

Gee, first you guys talk about cleaning 'em, now you're talking about oiling 'em. I think I'll just keep shootin' mine.

Welcome! And, if your experience with your 995 is anything like mine, it'll be trouble free without much (any so far for mine) maintenance. I've got just over 1000 through mine with no maintenance at all. So, don't worry, just shoot; let us know how it goes.
