so i'll be picking up my 995 next weekend at teh VA gun show, should compliment my M&P 40 nicely until i can afford my AR. Anyways, I've been researching all the goodies and accessories and wanted to get some advice on them:

1. ATI stock, butt pad, DUH!
2. laser - get the one in the stock or a waver based one?
3. red dot - 42mm should suffice, either that or a nice reflex
4. bottom rails (foregrip)- beretta or bushman? which is more forward/longer/etc
5. bushman trigger, charging handle, top rail - paint with what? bare metal is not very tactical looking, powder coat or airspray?
6. beretta extended lenght side rails (tac light/laser/whatever else i find)
7. barrel shroud - SOCOM from MFI, looks cool, about it :p

there's teh list, any pointers? i've already scratched the promag mags, seems a lot of you guys here are having too many issues to make 5 more rounds worth it.

hmm, looking at a few more pictures, i might have to go with a rail mounted laser if I go with a barrel shroud, laser might be blocked otherwise

yes it is, lol, anyway, does anyone here have the MFI shroud and a internal laser or is my assumption correct that teh shroud blocks the laser beam

well, 9mm are cheap plinker rounds that can also stop a BG of needed, 45 is overpriced and overkill in my book, on top of that the 9mm is already available, who knows when the 45 is coming ;) for 150-200 you cant really beat the 995

Great shooter. Quite accurate and very reliable. Last time I took it to the range I (litteraly) had people lining up to give it a try. Well worth the $200.

cheers,

Why does the ATI deserve a "DUH?" I've never even considered it.

Honestly, it sounds to me like your plan is to throw anything and everything you can find onto this rifle. It really doesn't sound tasteful at all. I have a funny feeling this thing is gonna look like a science experiment after just a few days.

Not sure the ATI is a DUH, but I have one and i truly believe it makes for a better shooting weapon. Much more solid and with the ATI butt pad and the rubber buffer behind the receiver there is a lot less recoil and faster target recovery.

If you decide on a barrel shroud the internal laser won't work. I wouls consider the Bushman bottom rail for the laser. You will need to move the front sling mount if you use one.

You can wait for the 45 cal, but who knows how long that will be. Get the 995 now you won't be sorry. I just went out at lunch and sent 30 rounds down range. it's a blast!
