I have a 4x12 that I build about every 6 years or so from popular mechanics plans. I do not fiberglass it, just paint it. Plus I leave it out in the weather. If I build out of oak instead of the cheap stuff, it would last a lifetime. But it only takes a day and a few sheets of plywood. So,I just rebuild every time it needs repaired. It looks a lot like the picture you posted.Too funny!
The Naval Architect, Phillip C. Bolger, designed "Fast Brick" to be a lifeboat for deep sea sailing vessels.
Three modes of propulsion - sail, row, or motor. Built in foam for buoyancy. Storage bins for supplies. One thousand pounds capacity. Tarp for protection from the sun and elements. Dacron sail.
I'm looking forward to this build.
