Is it possible Hi-Point will make a carbine in the 380 cal configuration?
Dont know but I sure wish they would make one in .223/5.56 and keep the price in line with the other carbines.
Welcome to the forum LB!
I moved your post to the relevant section.
What we want or would like HP to build is a subject of continued discussion, apart 30 pages worth lol
Nope. Never Happen
I'll never even have an HP in 380 until I get a true pocket pistol 380, or 5...
It is a big, bulky oversized handgun even in 9mm, let alone 380 (IMO) and while a C9 is a decent weapon, I like so many more handguns better than the smaller HPs. I have all of the models except the 380, and I prefer the JCP, JHP and the carbines.
Just buy a 995TS and shoot cheaper, more plentiful, more POWERFUL ammo than 380!!! Or get a real barnburner, a JCP and a 4095TS Best all around Hi Point combo!
Honestly a .380 and a 10mm carbine may actually be the most likely as it requires the least amount of retooling.
Hey Hi Point, make a 380 carbine, I'm a buyer!
I'll take a 10mm Carbine and handgun combo for $495 lol
TRUE, but I do not see a 380 carbine. Slightly more likely would be the 10mm carbine, and that I would buy in a New York Minute!!!
Retail, maybe, but MSRP would clock in around
JXP 10mm = $239
1095 TS = $360
This is in line with the current pricing structure, IMO...
JXP Being the designation for the 10mm handgun,
X = 10 in Roman Numerals
Beef the slides up and ream the chambers deeper,
heavier recoil spring and buffer, bang, it's DONE!
I will also take a 10 mm combo
380 HP carbine...I guess my question would be why would anyone want one. The 380 has roughly 1/3 less energy than even a 9mm round and costs about a 1/3 more per round to purchase!! Not sure what the appeal would be!!!
Consolidation of calibers.
Why is everybody jumping on the '.380 has no power' bandwagon?
May I remind you the Skorpion machine pistol had both .32 and .380 variants?
Many European military and police handguns are .380 or .32.........
Same reason we got 800 different rifle cartridges... A 30/06 will kill darn near everything on God's green earth. But we didn't stop there...
A .380 Carbine
I want one to complete the set. 10mm will have to wait its turn...
These puppies came in .380 too.....
The even smaller .32
Miculek did nearly a 500 yard shot with the M&P9, however...
Apparently one CAN shoot 380 out of the 995, similarly to how one can shoot 38 Special out of a 357 Magnum. It's been done... (don't try this at home!)
It will not go direct to the comment, so I will paste it here. Just search page for "two clips of 380s" and it will go directly to the comment
There ya go, "380 carbine" or "3895 TS"
I did think about it, and this came up: a 380 carbine would sell in the Mexican Market, 9mm is prohibited there. Paging Thomas Deeb, Paging T. Deeb!
PS: Nobody said 380 has "no power", but it was stated that it has
less power and costs more than the dirt-common 9mm...
I'm not against HP making this, just that I believe they will not, and
that we all would be better served by a 10mm Carbine!
In my experience .380 is easier to find than 10.
"You know how I know you're gay? You shoot a .380 carbine!"
I'm one of those who have no interest in owning a .380 for the same reasons mentioned.
But, I do think it would be cool if Hi Point made a .380 carbine since they do make the other 3 calibers.
