Picked one up today.

Any reason why I would need to keep the little envelope with the fired cartridge in it?

They came with mine too. Its just for record purposes incase its stolen and used in a crime I think.

Because if you are a collector/horder, you don't want anything to disappear with your brand new gun.

You want to keep the box pristine and everything inside as nice as possible.

Thats why. :)

Not like it isn't hard to keep it, put in the case and forget about it.

Gratz on the glock, I keep spent brass from all my guns with a record of the S# and a picture and I keep all of these in my saffe apart from my guns that way I can prove the gun is mine even if the serial number has been filed off

Just keep it. It give it the birthday (sore of) and may or may not help the resell value.
