Never tried to take em off, never had a reason to

 

this might have been brought up before (or maybe not), but has anyone tired to take some kind of heavy abrasive (sand paper, or something) place it face side against the grip, wrapped it very tight (maybe a inner tube) and then heat up the outside with a heat gun? If done properly I would think you could do a mass texturing without the OCD of being uniform or the huge time consumption...
