New Hi-Point 9mm Carbine Owner

Hello all. Just purchased my first Hi-Point gun. I wanted to buy a rifle so I could have a gun of every type. Already have a revolver, pistol, and shotgun. I've been interested in the carbine so I can use the same ammo as my Taurus Millennium G2 and right now 9mm is easier to come by. Any tips on being a first time user of this gun? Also any suggestions for budget accessories that work out of the box with this gun?

I doubt I need a scope since it will be used mostly for target practice and maybe home defense. A red dot sight might be good (not sure if I want to use iron sights for close range) as well as a flashlight. I also might try out a foregrip to see how I like it. Since the gun has been out a while, some of the accessories you all use might not be readily available still. I did buy a second magazine for it already. Appreciate any help you all can give.

Below is a picture of the one I purchased.

You should leave and leave NOW. I joined this forum in 2013, very much like you, I had a pistol, rifle, AR and a shotty. I just wanted 3-4 calibers, extra magazines and backups.

Here I am now, around 20 calibers, more firearms than I care to admit, lots of equipment, parts, supplies... and down to 2 HPs at the moment. These guys and gals will enable you to justify waaaay more than you ever intended. At least I got all my goodies without debt and without neglecting my other essentials. Miraculously

The flashlight I have has a strobe light mode. That's why I thought it might be a good one to mount to it. Plus it gets really bright. If it can be mounted with easy access near the foregrip I thought it might work. If not then I will have to get one like you mentioned.
I've had a bunch of those lights, but I had to make some pvc pipe inserts so it would fit in a flashlight weapon mount. I took some 3/4" pvc and made it the proper length, then split it making 2 halves which filled in that gap on the light's body

I have them too. Bought a 5 pack of them twice. Gave some to friends. Doubt they would handle much reoil
IMO any light will flicker under recoil unless it has really strong springs and or extra preload on the springs. Most lights only have one moving part (switch) so I suspect these would hold up pretty good, and for the price, maybe excellent

I need to run it and see
Now shoot the heck out of it

Actually haven't been able to take it to the range yet. Life and winter had been getting in the way. Now that the weather has warmed up, I'll have to find time to hit the range.
Too bad you don't have a home range, I did until the LEO down the street complained, rather his wife did and convinced him to talk to us. He eventually took advantage of the housing boom and sold his house that he got for next to nothing years ago. (y)

So now I'm shooting more, and I was going to get some dirt work before he moved, still planning on that 💪😎(y)
Best of luck @iitzAFleshWound
I just hope I don't waste too much ammo o_O o_O o_O
