Found a deal I couldn't pass up on a 995. 6 years old and looked in decent shape, but no sights. Only pd $160, so I bit. Today I had to do a full tear down and for as clean as the outside was, the inside had a 6 year build up of grease, grit, grime and who knows what. Cleaned it up, put it back together, added the optic, inexpensive 3x prism scope and it is ready for the range.

Got some good help from your site, so joined up. Hope to get to know some of you. By the way, only Hipoint, but not my only gun by far.

Welcome Grant! Nice deal on the monkey gun! It probably never had been cleaned. Per hi point you only have to clean em every 1500 to 2000 rds.

I'm afraid that is advice I likely won't take. Guess I'm too anal, and I like my guns.

I saw that and eliminated myself, I'm pretty well stocked...12000 rds is enough, right?
