when I pick up this very slightly used 4595 in a couple weeks, should I send it in to mom for inspection? If so, what are the costs involved? Shipping I know, but anything else?

I would suggest you take it out a shoot it? If there is nothing wrong with your "VERY" slightly used 4595TS, no since sending it back to MoM. Your only cost to send a gun back to MoM is the shipping.

Shoot it!! Every used gun I've bought I take home, clean and head to the range. Even the 70 yr and 100 yr old mausers that I bought. You can do a visual inspection and dry fire and be fairly sure that the firearm is in working order of not. A lightly used hi point should be fine.

Basic cleaning and if anything get some snap caps and test the function.
Then get some real ammo head to the range and enjoy!
No need to send anything unless it's broke.
HP will send you small parts for free so you can do it yourself.

that was kind of my plan. Inspect, clean, go to the range and have some fun.
