My niece is homeschooling my great nephew because SHE wants him to learn the true stuff.This boy is gifted at 4 yrs of age he already was playing with the computer and his dad had to password things like the copier and important stuff.

Actually a lot of people are homeschooling their children now due to the crime and other crap going on in school. And they are learning more then your ordinary High schooler. There are a lot of home schooling networks already set up and more starting up.

sean187, Ignore em and do what you feel is right it's your children YOUR DECISION. Look on line for some good homeschool groups in your area they get together once a week or month and have socials for the kids and themselves and help each other out with questions and other things. I for 1 applaud you and yours, go for it!!!

Home schooling is great also for learning, but, the major thing that kids miss by this is the socialization with other people, and especially with their own age groups. I have a couple of young children in my neighborhood that are home schooled, from different families, and they are very smart. BUT, dumb as a bag of rocks for common sense because they don't know how to interact with anyone outside of their immediate families. Just my $.02 worth.

If there's a decent private school in your area I'd try that first before home schooling. Being able to interact socially is sooooo important.

Guess you didn't see my post just above yours. AND a lot of kids have been homeschooled and have great social skills it's all how the parents deal with that as well. WHY pay so much for private schools if you or your wife can teach them as well if not better then any educational system. public OR private!!

No, I saw your post. Keep in mind, just getting together once in a while is NOT the same as clinical socialization. What about athletics? After school clubs? Lab work? Group study? Not to mention playground socialization.

They do have that once a week they get together and also they do other stuff PLUS he has friends here in the neighborhood as well. He just doesn't have to try to study with 20+ morons around him. He's doing good

yes we will be paying more in long run because of the way we had to inherit this office. gotta spend to make.

well then with the new benefits and extensions on unemployment plus the added educational benefits which would allow you to go back to school to get a better job. are a plus for you right now in this bad economic times. that we all find ourselves in because of the policy's bush admin put into place. with the new health care policy's that will be in place you will now be able to have your health benefits back . if i were you i would take advantage of the new benefits allowed for you.
in the last 2 years there have been more young and old going back to school to get their education again to help them selves get a better future .thanks to the new policy's. hope you will be one. and don't forget you are not the only one that has been affected by this economic situation.we all have in some way.gl to you and your family i wish you well.

But my question was, can he as a parent be confident to know that he himself can answer any question that she may have. Its hard to learn things on a computer. I've taken several online college courses. I didnt "learn" anything, just memorized it for my "tests" which I couldve easily cheated on by lookin up the correct answer.
I know that schools these days can be rough, thats why I suggested a nice private brick and mortar campus.

Buit isn't memeorizing, learning that is how we learn by memorizing how, and why, and with what.

DON'T BE PUTTING WORDS IN MY MOUTH!!! I believe in equal pay BUT of I have been working for the same freakin company for 20 years and someone just got hired get the same pay. I don't think they should be getting the same rate of pay that I or anyone else gets with the same amount of experience and time in the company. I guess YOU think that if you start a job and have NO experience that you deserve the same pay as I who put in a few more years and jumped thru the hoops should get.
