So I spent several hours yesterday sorting through a couple gallons of range brass when I found these three little guys. I don't own a 22 TCM but apparently the universe is telling me I should. Otherwise why would I find three TCM cases?

Apparently the universe wants me to buy a 270 Winchester rifle as well. Found eight pieces of Sprint brass for that.

You need one! Then you can do a comparison. 5.7 vs 22tcm. I love mine! Little flame thrower that kicks like a pellet gun. Fun fun fun!! I never had a pistol chambered in 5.7 to compare. I’d be interested on your thoughts.

When I was deciding what to buy the 22 TCM was definitely in the running. But there were several factors which eventually tilted away from the neat little TCM. The short version of that is that the 22 TCM pretty much is exclusively a 1911 cartridge and that just didn't fit my desired goal for that class of cartridge.

.22 TCM 9R was designed to fit in nearly any existing 9x19mm handgun w/ just a bbl swap...
Unfortunately the 22TCM9r, which features a lighter, shorter, more blunted shaped bullet, doesn't have the same ballistic options as the standard 22 TCM, and the existing list of hot swap barrels seems to be exclusively for a very small number of Glocks. Gen 3 17 and 19, from memory.

True. But you can put a .22 bbl liner in anything. 😜

That's why I built my own based on the .38 Super frame. The 1911 platform still limits it somewhat but I have at least ten different bullets I can load Thee 33gn. Hornets scream out of a 5" barrel at over 2300fps.

For the use-case I have for the 5.7, to make a 22TCM make sense I would have wanted a polymer framed 2011 with optic cut that I could drop in a 22TCM barrel (which would doubtless require custom fitting). But, good grief!, bring your wallet! The Ruger, PSA, and now the S&W are vastly less expensive than that.

If I could have fit a regular 22TCM into a G19 or G17, then that probably would have fit really well for me. But they're 22TCMR only because of COAL and magazine restrictions. And I don't remember ever finding a TCM glock conversion slide that had an optic cut but they might be available I guess.

Just seems silly to spend $75-$100 to do something that most guns have as an OEM option. Not to mention the game of deciding which cut to use, and hoping the guy you send it to is good at his job.
