"Old" .45 mag release

  1. Got a .45 ACP... and wow was I surprised at the mag release. A metal tab on the bottom of the grip? I mean, c'mon now... seriously...

    The old style Hi-Point .45 with the heel release mag button is my favorite design. It also sports the aluminum frame rather than the polymer. This is a better balanced pistol than the new polymer ones with the thumb button mag release.

    The heel release is what they commonly use in Europe. It is sturdier and a more positive magazine lockup. Some armies over there didn't like the fact that the thumb button mag release could be pushed inadvertently and the mag fall on the ground. It's a good gun!

    i prefer it.. its a more postive locking for the mag.
