instead of doing a stain and poly style refinish on my 10 ga i went old school. I sanded off all that crappy duck hunter type paint and just worked it down with Hoppes gun oil. it needs several more coats as it soaks into teh pores but it looks alot better than it did before.

you did a really good job, and i am really starting to appreciate some of the "original firearms". it's odd, but the "newer firearms" seem to be overpriced, complicated, and most important unproven, imo.

Looks a bit like what I would imaging my great Granddads double barrel on my wall would have looked like new. Absolutely sweet! :yay!:

Actually its heavy enough its about the same recoil as a 30-06 or maybe a K31. Definantly less than a mosin or my 45-70. there is a three pound weight in the stock that helps cut down recoil.
