One post because this is my first post. Two carbines because... well, I bought a used 995 monkey gun back in '13 and now it looks like it's gonna get a brand new stablemate in the form of a 4595. I shoot mostly cast bullets in the 995, and will probably do so in the 4595 as well.
My planet of the apes gun has never been back to visit Mom, although I did get a couple free parts (F&R sights; it just had a cheap scope on it when I got it) from the mothership.

Thanks for the welcome. You're right; I'm probably down to 1000 rounds of .45, so I'd better get cracking on the loading press! ;)

My 4595 runs great on cast lead bullets.

Glad to hear it, because that's primarily what I intend to shoot in mine.

Thanks! What caliber, and what bullet do you use? I'm currently using the Lee TL356-124TC, but I've also used the .358 158 RF bullet. I have several .45 molds including the Lyman 454424 Keith, Lee 255 RF, and Lee 230 TC.

I have the 995TS and use the Lee TL356-124-2R and powder coat them. I've been happy with the bullet. I also cast for my Haskell 45 ACP pistol using the Lee
TL452-230-2R. I use LLA and shoot them as cast.

Another happy 4595 cast user! I use the Lee 452-228-2R and a NOE HTC 452-230-RF and powder coat both.

I also shoot the above in my carbine but I need to size them to .358" and liquid alox them in order to get them to not tumble, plus the alox gives an extra 40 fps muzzle velocity. They leave the muzzle at 1211 fps.

That's pretty good velocity for such a light load.
