  2. I just tried and no problem. Who is your provider? Is it WiFi or cell?

It's an OpenDNS thing, not specifically Android.

Tracked it down. Definitely and OpenDNS thing. AFAICT, it's a "filtering option" for local admins.

Local admins meaning your ISP folks?

So your phone or internet company can decide what to filter?

No possible issues with freedom of information in that, is there.;)

In this case it was through an unintentional connection to a hotspot.

If they use OpenDNS, yes. :(

Yeah. I ended up with egg on my face when I clicked the link to "request" the issue be resolved and the local admin got back in touch with me.

That aside, I do find it somewhat troublesome that OpenDNS is classifying these sort of things. I know that they're trying to do it as a "value added" service, but I don't think it's really their business. Leave that to the NetNanny folks.

god forbid you look at those evil weapons.
I'll bet they'd let you browse the local ISIS controlled website, though. You know, because we don't wanna discriminate against them or anything.

Corporate blocks most gun sites, but I can get the NRA site as it is political and then use the link there. I have to use my tablet to connect to an at&t hotspot to cruise the forum.

  11. I love that lol. My work blocks damn near everything not mission related, but I can shop for guns all day long on it.

I wish I could, but they would know if I disabled the filter. I will not lose my job that allows me to buy guns just so I can shop for the online.
