opinon on 9mm barrel and slide on CF380

Discussion in 'Hi-Point Pistols' started by lcback, Aug 30, 2015.

  1. I have had my CF380 for years. But i hate how expensive .380 ammo it.

I know there has been a few threads on creating a frankin-gun.

I have been thinking about swapping for a 9mm barrel so I could finally have my 995ts and c9 combination.

    found this on Ebay
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/HI-POINT-C9...EE-SHIPPING-/311431832832?hash=item4882c8a500

    barrel and slide for $55.00

    Is this a good deal?
How hard is it to replace the barrel? I intend to do it once, Not back and forth.
    what do the experts say?
Mel, cic, Ajole. IM LOOKING AT YOU :noob:

There's a thread around here with me explaining how to turn a 380 into a 380 comp (with pics). It's the exact same procedure.

Cic makes it sound easy? I have never done it myself? But, if I had, people would call me a "Smith"! hahaha

If you are semi handy with basic tools, just follow Cicpup's instructions, and you'll be set. Pop out a pin, get the barrel out, put new barrel in and re-pin. Done.

Technically no need to swap slides, but it's bad form to leave the wrong cartridge info on the gun, and it could be dangerous, so swap 'em if you got 'em.;)

  6. Yeah, Thats why i was excited to see the slide/barrel on Ebay together.
Of course im sure I could normally just buy them separate.
I imagine some day my son will be shooting this gun....unless i shoot it out  But I want to keep the correct information on it.
Thank you, I figured it was just two pins. I'll have to take a picture of all the pieces before I take them off.

  7. It is incredibly easy to do. The beauty of Hi-Points is their simplicity.
If you pm me your email address I will send you detailed instructions

Just heat up the barrel till it's cherry red and then hammer in a live 10mm round.
