Painting slide

Discussion in 'Hi-Point Pistols' started by LaMontS., Oct 22, 2015.

  1. I am preparing to paint the slide on my JCP, and im just wondering if those of you that have done this painted the bottom/inside also, or masked that off. Thanks

Yeah, I wouldn't want any paint where that there are moving parts. It could cause malfunctions.

Best to mask off. Be sure to use oil/grease remover beforehand. Also use Rustoleum - even one coat covers well, stays well and is resistant to powder solvent.

Why waste tape? Take 2 pieces of 1x pine and nail them together in a "T" shape. Invert it and shove the slide onto it. Now not only is the inside protected from over spray, you also have a painting/drying stand.
