Oh, but poke fun at something other than American and the racist card is played. Sad but true. My JHP gives the same peace of mind as a over-priced 1911 anything, and would kill just the same. Or look at the price of the Browning Hi-Power,....'come on, $1300 starting for a 9 millimeter. Screw that, I'd donate to a children's charity fund if I had that kind of cash to blow.

    Ok, rant over. SO-WHAT.

Even though Hi Point haters can bite me, some of that "above" stuff was funny! :p

Hey, Hi Pointers revel in this kind of distain - it's part of our identity, so kick back, open a cold one, rate the hater comments on a ten-scale and have a good laugh. :p

I think a lot of the vitriol comes from that fact that non-Hi-Pointers, particularly those who have spent big bucks on their Ed Brown 1911s and Tavor bull pups, secretly worry that they've been bamboozled by slick marketers and peer pressure.

Their guns are arguably better in an absolute sense, but not nearly as good as Hi Points in terms of value (i.e. benefit to cost ratio) and they know it, so they mollify their "buyers remorse" by dissing the lower-priced alternative. It's a common psychological condition known as cognitive dissonance, or more commonly, sour grapes.

What amazes me most about Hi-Point haters is that they CHOOSE to be ignorant!

More power to the rest of us.

I love my C9 AND JHP!

i own a 4595ts AND a Tavor. I have no buyer's remorse for either one. I first got the HP for HD, but I feel the design and capacity(biggest complaint of any HP owners) of the Tavor makes it a better HD gun, should multiple people try to get in. The biggest thing, though, is that .223/5.56 has been cheaper around here than .45acp, even in bulk.
If we do an Ohio gathering at a range, I'll let those that wanna shoot it do so.

Only the people that have never owned a Hi Point bash them. The rest of us know.

Didn't mean to dis the Tavor or the Tavorites that own them. Personally I think they're fine guns, but I think some people buy expensive guns just as status symbols.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I have yet to find a HP firearm that I think looks good.

I bought my 995TS cuz it works not because looks pretty cuz it doesn't.

(I don't have any beautiful hammers or screwdrivers, either.)

It's outside my price range, but it doesn't seem necessarily any higher than comparative bullpups these days. My "show" gun cost under $400, and a big chunk of that was the VZ grips.

I use to laugh at all you H.P. fools and your boat anchor ugly guns ......untill I shot then bought my first JHP and 4595 T.S.

Now I get to hear all the BS I once said from other people when they see me with my Carbine or my JHP at the range.
Some I let shot my H.P.'s and let the firearm sell itself others I just ignore and hope they can get back to their village before nightfall.

Everyone who shot my 995TS wants one. They're an excellent entry rifle for new shooters. Low noise, no recoil, and any new shooter (myself included) was able to be very accurate with the factory sights.

    The price was right at the time I bought it, otherwise I'd probably still be wanting one. It's almost as expensive as all my other guns I've ever bought combined(glock 17 $500, 10/22TD $250, 715t $250, M44 $250, 91/30 $100, 4595 $300, pt1911 $550, Omni $700)
