Hit the local gunshow this morning and found another spare magazine for my pistol. Second best part besides finding it was it only cost me $8. It shows more external wear than the others I have but that doesn't matter. Good spring tension so I suspect it will work fine even if I have to make a slight feed lip adjustment.
It's the one laying on top towards the camera.
Maybe find 1 or 2 more and I'll be comfortable with that.

Nice find, good luck with it.

6 to 10 for any "duty handgun" but lately I'll accept 4 to 6 for stuff I expect I'll not carry so much. Glunk Mags? Dozens, and that's just 9mm. I prolly have a dozen in 10mm or more.

Let's talk AR & AK mags.

😋

Yeah but 5x the number of 9mm glocks or sigs I have and it adds up fast!!!

Of course I have 45 and 40 pistols too but the are right on the 4-5 average. I guess the most I have per pistol is the PSA Rock 5.7... because it came with 10... and its my only one lol.

I usually try to have more of a mag if its a hard to find mag, like an old Taurus, Hi Point mil surp pistol etc.

Glock, CZ75s and 1911 mags will be found everywhere laying next to their owners in SHTF lol.

As for the AK/AR mags - no I am not going to go count... I think its enough lol

I came across 16 AK followers & floorplates today, left by my wife's late husband. Now I need to print 16 AK mags...
Awesome

@Visper

I have 2 huge boxes of ARAK mags, I too would need to separate and count. But the resultant numerological tally could enable a red flag against my crazy a$$ so I will not go to that extreme measure 😹 😹

I have a couple of cases from Global Ordnance I need to sell - and they're Korean steel mags, so they're heavy, pain in the rear to take to the show.
AK or AR?

There is definitely a difference between the "name brand" Korean and the "Military contract (aka cdnn)" ones. RGW (forget exact initials) are horrid mags, never work... KCI, I have and they work just fine, I really like KCI mags - even for Glock. One thing I will say - for the Glock, replace the spring rest of it is GTG. The KCI AK mags have always fed.

I have a couple military contract AR and AK mags, they work ok, IMG, SKM brands too. Good enough for the range but not sure if I would trust them otherwise.

You DON’T know. I counted once…I was shocked! Those good deals and “add $40 for free shipping” really add up.🤣

AR steel mags. For normal use, it's seemingly difficult to screw up an AR mag. I've had some flush-fit 10 round Thermmolds with half of their baseplates too thick that wouldn't lock into a mag well, but even 30 year old multi-use RamLines and ProMag Rollermags work in my ARs. The only trouble I've had on a range w/ mags was w/ a severely undergassed 27" bbl rifle, and then found out that curved Magpuls feed better than straight ones - fixed the gas issue by reducing mass, problem went away.

But not all magwells are created equal. Feeding wise yeah hard to screw up - drop free is different.

I agree it is really hard to screw up an AR mag...

Korean wise I was more referencing the AK side.

Yeah, w/ only 1x AK in the house to feed I've not jumped on a case of GO's AK mags - yet. I've picked up some NOS Tapco here & there, and some NOS Palm I think, as well as a few Magpul, but not knowing the metal AK mag world has held me back. Sorted through mags yesterday and found two older AR mags I can send to Massachusetts before their AWB tightens, as well as a bunch of AK followers & floorplates my wife's late husband left, so put those on the shelf next to the 3-D printer, just need to buy some AK springs and tweak my settings - and unclog the print head.

Congratulations OP! I'll be honest, I have never seen magazines for the older Hi Points, before I saw yours in the picture.
Thanks! Since buying one of these older pistols and finding out HiPoint doesn't make magazines for them anymore, it pays to keep on the lookout for spares. I realize it's not an expensive gun but it is fun to play with .

Probably fairly easy to modify 1911 mags or modern HiPoint mags to work. I doubt they changed the grip angle or the feed lips significantly. Glad you're keeping the teenaged girl running, an orphan before her time.
