I just got done talking with a friend from Texas. He said ammo is getting harder to find and when you do find it you have to sign or register for it so the authorities know you have it.

Is this new or what? I haven't purchase ammo since Spring of 2009. Is this all 50 states or just select municipalities?

Here in TN I've bought both pistol and rifle ammo at WalMart, BassPro and local gun shops and have not been asked to sign anything unless I was paying for it by check then they wanted a signature on the check And all ammo has been is short supply since December but is starting to reappear.

I have read some stuff about California pulling that stuff in some towns and cities. They make us register new guns, why stop there?

thank heavens for State laws. Utah does not require registration of handguns either. As far as the ammo thing that is a rumor I have been hearing since Obama took office. Doubt it will ever happen and I doubt pro guns states will allow it.

Some where around Seminole I guess. It's got to be a local thing. I'll ask him again. The reason why I say that is he's always going back and forth to Hobbs NM.

Hmmm Texas has preemption so this activity is NOT legal. I am betting a chain jerk is going on.... If not this should be reported to the state AG!!

I live outside of Austin and can go to the True Value and can get a box of nails and Box of ammo no problemo.
No paper work Nada...
