Yeah I have been thinking about doing that. when I shot it often I though "I can live with this" but now when I take it out or let someone new shoot it, it becomes such a pain.Took mine to the range today for the first time and shoot a hundred rounds through it no problem and was fairly accurate at 50 feet, with a hundred rounds it started to loosen up and was easier to rack the slide. I modified the safety on mine so that you could drop the mag without having to fight the safeties.

Sometimes you just have to take what is available at the time and hope you have the money when the right stuff comes a long. As a side note to this and other " cheap " guns that the snobs say are junk, I did a youtube search on failed rugers, s&w, glock, sig, khar an h&k. With the exception of the khar and the h&k, which did have a few, all others had at least 20 or 30 vids of failures of one reason or another. So high dollar does not mean no problems. Every company makes some that work and some that don't

I thought about that too, but perhaps a better solution would be aI keep trying to find a recoil spring for the HP-22 that is slightly stronger, but still fits in the narrow range of spring compression.
Anyone found a spring yet that will help retard the slide momentum and reduce the stress on the frame without binding?

Recoil Buffer, which would damp out the slide to frame impact while
not affecting recoil velocity and slide movement at all. Most auto
loading pistols have a place where a recoil buffer can be safely installed.

How'd that workout I just got super x with for one that's maybe never been fired but is 20+ years old and FTF's every roundMy son bought a used one with a holster and 3 mags for 50 bucks a few months ago. Short barrel model. It has some issues with the firing pin safety which we corrected. It had not been fired much. It would not feed CCI or Rem bulk pack very well. Fed bulk pack was better, but still some FTFs. Finally got it running with Winch Super X. Probably a bit too hot, but he doesn't shoot much like I do. Guess i will have to check it for cracks at some point.
