The BATFE is proposing new and vague, open-ended, and therefore open for abuse, rule change for Pistol Stabilizing Braces.

You don't have long left because the ATF didn't choose the (legally required) period for comments. You have to let them know now.

Cool. So do you think all the folks who had Bump Fire stocks will jump on board to help try to save the pistol braces after other firearm owners didn't step up for them?

The problem with this is the same thing that happened with Bump Fire and will happen with binary triggers... the "I don't have one and don't see the need for them" folks will not lend support. You'll end up with a small number of folks arguing for them and they'll lose. No different then what the FUDD's do when talk of banning AR-15's comes up.

For the moment, I'm just hoping they comment on this. We'll deal with the others next.

Well, I did comment on the bumpfire stocks, that is one train I never jumped on. I "usually" try to whenever I know something like this is coming. I'm sure there are some that I have missed over the years though...

I put in my comment on the new restrictions that the worthless Alcohol Tobacco Firearms Bureau wants to put in place. We need to remove more firearm restrictions not add new worthless regulations in.

Just posted on Youtube. Looks like the ATF is backing down.
Don't know how reliable this is, but the short version is that they've announced they are withdrawing the rule changes. Vid is about 3 minutes and he simply reas the notice that just came through

I just told them the constitution said shall not be infringed”, and suggested they knock it off. Using those exact words.

Wonder if my suppressor will be OK’d soon....

"Shall not be infringed" - why do you need their approval? :stir:

BATFE has announced that they are not going forward with this and will be taking no action on braces.

"In an unexpected move, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives tonight withdrew its targeting of a popular firearm, AR-15-style pistols, in a huge win for gun advocates.

In a two-page notice, the ATF said, "ACTION: Notice; withdrawal" of its controversial plan to put the firearms under the spotlight, potentially turning some 3-4 million owners into felons."

Could also be based on the number of free SBR stamp requests they received...
I know one guy that was going to get 6 SBRs out of that deal.

There was nothing to stop you from making up 20 consecutive serial numbers of your own and submitting them for free SBR tax stamps. Then using the SN's to complete 80% lowers which would make them beyond reproach for building out to SBR's.
