Today me and my pop ordered two c-9's. As you all mostly know I own a 995 and am willing although wondering if ill like as much the C-9. I'll review it as per standard. If I dont like mine one of you can benefit from it. Unfortunately though here in central Florida we are victim to insane price markups. (The C-9 is going for $229 cash here locally when you do find it.) So were getting them shipped in at a cheaper price but even so after FFL it will be $209. But there is no taxes involved so that is still cheaper then buying local.

Wow that is little steep! My local shop had them the other day for $139.00. Best of luck with it, I'm sure you will like it.
Good golly...... that's some change there!

The very best of luck with your first shots and break in - let us know how you are doing and,

All in JEST of course. Gunny hasn't been around in a bit and I was feeling lonely!

What state are you from?
That seems a little steep. I purchased two last week in Alabama for $129 before tax. And I must say it has been one of the best investments I have made. For the price you can't go wrong. Good luck. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have mine.
Central Florida is nuts with gun prices right now. Unless I go towards the beach or literally out of town in general I will not find a price at $200 or lower. I could have waited for the next gun show. But when you factor in gun show fees natural inflation of prices and the fact that as of two weeks ago 200 for a c-9 was cheap. I am content. This was not a spur of the moment I actually did my shopping around and here locally its gone nowhere but up.

The only reason its so expensive now is because factoring in shipping from an out of state dealer, transfer fees from FFL, and a background check your looking at $50 dollars per gun right there minimum. Oh well seemed to be the only thing I could say.
I too am in Central florida and the prices are rediculous. I hate seeing people posting here about C9's found for $120. It makes me sad =( I had to pay $190 for my C9 here.
ARTPE, Where are you located, because by me, Central Wisconsin, the price here is $139.95 also............ and he had 4 more C9's in stock yet last month.
Shawano Gun & Loan in Shawano , WI if anyone wants to contact them.
Should be in google..............
Picked up my c-9 today. Or one of them. My Father still has to go in and get his background check done and do the waiting period. As you know I have picked up a c-9 before and didn't really like it. However I went ahead and decided to get it anyway and give this gun a fair hi-point chance. Facts are people I know both on this forum and off say that this gun go's bang every time.

So just in case as it turns out. I already got potentially two family members alone who say they will pay me what I paid for the gun if I don't like it or just pay me what I paid for it anyway. (I already have enough guns. So I can part with it and buy another one if I REALLY loved it.) You all were right about the ammo balancing the weight of the c-9 out.

I do notice something that slightly disturbs me. I am going to try another type of ammo to see if it works better. I currently have some hollow tips bullets in it. And sometimes the bullet doesn't slide in all the way. It gets stuck. This worries me when I go shoot it. I will try FMJ rounds later to see if it does it will FMJ rounds as well. Otherwise as I examine I like the feel of this gun.

Yup, stick to FMJ for a couple hundred rounds til she is broken in good!
just picked up a c9 on 3-6-09 at vances in columbus ohio. they ran out of ALL .038 and 9 mm while I was there.
Bought a C-9 at Shawano Gun & Loan last week at $149, before tax and background check $.

They had a .40 NIB for $229 and .45 NIB at $169. I don't know what their stock levels are.

No carbines in stock.

Wisconsin's Gov. Doyle is proposing to raise the background check fee from $8 to $30, but that has drawn some serious heat. It will more than likely go to $15, but it's difficult to say when.
great now have fun with it
