Question on Glocks

I just got off Gun Broker and I see a whole lot of used Glocks for sale. If these guns are so
good why so many for sale???
Just a question, I've never owned a Glock so I can't compare to what I have.

IMO people just get tired of the look. i owned a G20, 10mm back in 98 and kept it for a few years then got rid of it. got the XD and said i would never get another glock. then i got a great deal on the G30SF .45 last month and love it again. they are kinda like a 10/22, mods out the butt that you can do realitively cheap. just make sure to keep your finger off the bang stick and everything out of the way when re-holstering, especially if you use and i don't recommend a thumb break and don't try to catch it if you drop it, just let it hit the deck. it won't go off but if you try to catch it your finger may hit the trigger...just happened over on glocktalk to a guy, so practice normal gun safety and it is a great weapon, too many PD's and people have them to prove otherwise. hell some people just through them in the diswasher to clean after the range...i've seen it. have fun, be safe.
if i were to guess maybe people get good deals on them and wana put em on gb.com to make money? Maybe they've had them for afew years and need the money more, and see the gun market is booming...idk just my 2 cents
glocks are one of the most ubiquitous pistols on the market in teh US. they were there "firstest with the mostest" when it came to poly frame pistols so they were the "in" gun of the 90s. now its to teh point where alot of shooters are moving on to other brands of poly frame and glocks are going to pay for them. also you have PD trade ins adding a huge segment of used glocks to the market.

Also there is the newest generation of Glock out now with a new stock design and slide, the RTFs.
Some may just be buying up and using their old Glocks as trade in.

i think it was the buying frenzy the first years they were out, dang i think i read the 17 came out in 1980! now that the market is flooded with 1-3 generations, and the, like said, newest fandangled pistol comes out, time to go to GB. Glock will always be around though. just ask Plaxico! I'll keep the 30SF just because it is one of the new generation, and i needed a poly .45. Now if i could just find the Sig P250 .357 Sig kit i'll be good to go!!
the new "fish scale" slide serrations are ugly as sin......

That's very true, I consider it a bad call on Glocks part. I don't really like the new grips either...

Realy worse than hi-points.
I kinda like the look of em myself, I've yet to find one to hold but it looks like you'd be able to get better purchase on the weapon.
its really no different than the old except there is a smaller section of the slide to grab onto. the old serrations were top to bottom ont he slide where teh fish scale is not.

ah ok. im certainly no expert on glock other then that if you dont put your glasses on the lettering on the cases looks like cock to me lol. I plan to go to the range and rent a G21 and see how it fits me and compair it to the 1911, and it they work for me I'll prolly get one in the future.

i re stipple everything to my liking anyway.
I bought a used Glock 17 on my 21st birthday. It was a police trade in, and was thoroughly used before I got it. I've put about 1k rounds through it myself if I had to guess. Great guns, I think people just get bored and want something else, or decide that they want to trade in a used one for a new or different model.
My LGS (Vances) Has police trade in G22's with 2-15 rd mags and night sites for $369.99. Is this a good price?

Didn't seem to have excessive wear on them. Any thing I should look out for?

I'd say that's a very good price! There isn't much that can break on a Glock. I'd just check the barrel to make sure it's in good shape, and take the slide off the frame (if they'll let you) and inspect the frame for cracks just in case someone may have dropped it or something.

Thanks for the info. The guys at Vances have always been cool with me and others. But I've been buying from them since 1984. May have to break down and get me a KABOOM Stick if any are left. :D No offense to the glock guys.

Yea, I'm not a big Glock fan. Had one when they first came out and was not impressed compared to my Beretta 92. But that was a LOOONG time ago. And alot has changed since then. And Iv'e owned may other brands of polymer framed pistols in recent years.

I would think that since police and firemen get big price breaks they would occasionally buy one with their discount and then sell at profit... hell, I would if I were eligible.
