sounds intentional to me. who turns the gun around to lower the hammer.
I think he just thought he was fancy, probably would have twirled it around his finger if he had succeeded with the first trick. Or maybe not, maybe he did think better him than the dog.
I remember from cowboy and gangster movies that they would pull the trigger and guide the hammer down with the gun facing almost straight up before they holster it.
Couldn't find a pic but this is obviously the better way of doing it.
That's what I remember too. Roll the gun back on your finger bringing the hammer to your thumb, rather than move your thumb to the hammer.
