But how much is a used 300BK barrel going to fetch? I have the tools, but it also sounds like maybe the barrel nut is oversized. (Modified crows foot wrench)

Doubt it is oversized. A lot of the barrel nuts that use a crows foot style wrench will not accept a standard wrench, they require a thinner cross section.
