The father of a friend from church is looking to liquidate his reloading gear. Wants to sell it all in one go, preferably. I figured could help out. I might be able to hook up a potential buyer with my friend.

Retail he has around $800 or more of gear. Mostly Lyman and RCBS.

it is a Lyman "C" frame press, RCBS powder scale, powder measure, and some misc. items case trimmer, case length gauge lube pad deburing tool and bullet pullers. 38 special dies for 357 mag. handgun,25-06 dies,30-30 dies, 308 dies,30-06 dies, 270 dies, 243 dies.

What I could glean from the message and pics:

The press is a Lyman Spartan. I have 2 of them. One dedicated to 30-30, the other to 22 Hornet. The presses sell for about $75 today, used to be able to get them $20 - $30 before the recent shortage. The red primer cup is gold. I have seen them sell for upwards on $30 alone. Most of the presses don’t have them.

They have a set screw that holds the shell holder in place. Some of these presses have had the ram replaced with a spring clip to make changing out shell holders easier. But the set screw is really no problem. The presses will reload 30/06 class cartridges, but they have simple linkage. They work best with thin walled rifle cartridges - hence the 30-30 and 22 Hornet. It’s a great press for handgun cartridges too.

I also have the Spar-T, which is the turret version. It is dedicated to 38 Special. I like these presses.
