Removing Screws and Nuts From A Carbine Stock

    I am considering painting the stock of my 995 TS. How can I remove the nuts in the holes in the stock. I see others have painted theirs and the screws and nuts are black. How is it done guys?

    Unscrew about 1/4 inch or a bit more. Tap the screw into the stock, thus driving the nut out the other side. Just make sure there's enough bolt threaded to avoid stripping threads, and tap lightly, it's not hard.

    Or, take the screw out, thread it into the back of the nut from the left, and pull it out.

    I prefer that once the stock is split in half, screw in a bolt and nail it with a rubber mallet.
