I heard something about this today. I wish I had a pic. I only saw a 2" barreled gun. I wish they would make a 4" and 6' version.

It can't be any good. No wood grips. ;)

'Beast...?'

A .38 Special revolver...???

Get Real!

A 4" or 6" barrel .38 Special revolver steel frame usually tames the cartridge to a soft shooting pistolkitty.

I think he was talking about the 357 snub.

My first handgun was an Italian SAA in 357. Even with full house, it shot comfortably. I still have a Ruger Security Six 357 in my safe. But I've shot the 357 snubs. With the way modern .38SPL self defense ammo performs, there's simply no reason to add the punishment and discomfort of a .357. It's kinda pointless.

Punishment and discomfort? Go shoot a 44 mag or one of the other bigger boys, and then the .357 is just another gun.

Sort of.

My 4 5/8" Super Blackhawk was no fun at all. A cylinder full was about all I cared to endure and often resulted in a bruised and sometimes bloody middle finger. Put a set of Hogue grips on it and it became "just another Gun". Hideous, but just another gun.

in retrospect take the LCR in 357 Magnum. Even with the factory Hogue grips I have absolutely no desire to ever shoot one with full house 357 magnums again.

And I do agree with @lklawson that any performance gain that you do get with a 357 over the 38 in a 2" barrel, and there is some, is more than offset by the blast and flash of most of the 357's powder burning outside of the barrel. IMHO, the 357 needs a minimum 3" barrel. 6" is better, but I draw the line at around 4 inches in a revolver.

I have. Buddy of mine had a Ruger full sized. It wasn't bad but I was pulling it out of the clouds every shot.

Yes, a 357 snub shooting full on 357 ammo is quite unpleasant. I can shoot it but I don't like it.

And with how good modern 38 defensive ammo is, there's no point.

Who needs a revolver with a six foot barrel?

A Wuhan flu commemorative pistol?

;)

I left out one of the little marks didn't I? 6 foot that would be a long one. It would get you closer to the BLM and Antifa though. Maybe crazy Bidumb voters too.
