Drizzled most all day at the range with my 995 yesterday. Mags were spotted with rust when I got home just 4 hours later. WHAT! Used BC Barricade (rust protection and lube) which cleaned them up but they took another coating the next day.

Normal?
Do I need to open up and check for rust spots?

Nah, it must've been something "extra" in the precipitation.

Actually that's happened to me more than once, firearm was unaffected internally but mags in particular were. Wiped 'em down and all was good in my world.

Use some Big 45 Frontier cleaner on the rust. Oiling with a "protectant and lube" after the fact it does't remove it...it just covers it up.

I get mine at Amazon.
