Interesting. Especially since we were just told today that we have "active shooter" training in April for the entire district. Did some checking on the program. A variation on the "Run, Hide, Die" theme
Yep. We had some people from the state Ed. office come through our building, their one negative was that they felt it would be good if we uncovered the 2'X7' windows next to our doors, so that admin could see in better, without interrupting classes. You know, because its good to have extra eyes on classes, and we want transparency in all things, don'cha know. Nothing to hide right? Shouldn't be a problem if you are doing things right, right?
Of course, we had all COVERED those windows after active shooter training, because they make it easy for a BG to see into our rooms while we are cowering in terror trying to find a corner without a sight line.
BTW, some of us aren't actually cowering in terror, we are looking for a good sight line ourselves, so we can bring firepower into the appropriate part of our sector if an attacker does something stupid...IYKWIM. Got to LOVE the Utah laws about carry in schools.
