Another question for those learned in the 45 carbines.

How are the barrels attached to the receivers? I'm pondering getting a stamp and turning my new 45 carbine into a SBR and then adding a suppressor. Yes, I know that takes two different stamps, paperwork and time. I have been down this road before with AR15's.
Finished cleaning it this evening after a box of fmj. Accuracy was the pits. During cleaning I discovered the front sight was not secured, and thus rocks back and forth on the barrel; yikes!
Thanks all.

The barrel is pinned to the receiver. Be aware that should you ever choose to send it in to MOM (Hi Point); they may or may not send the gun back with the shortened barrel; if it is possible to send an SBR back to OEM who didn't do the shortening.

From? Who sells replacement barrels?
Yeah…no one does.

Really, your best bet, short of serious machine work, is to just screw the can on the OEM barrel and call it good.

Build an AR-45, SBR it and call it a day!!! All the time invested trying to do it to an HP it would pay for itself... don't get me wrong, I love my carbines... but I would not invest that much time, energy and tax stamps into a $300 carbine... (ok maybe $400 now)
