I was just a kid in the 70's, and I didn't get into firearms until 1994. So all I saw on TV in the 70's were revolvers and 1911's.

What modern semi-auto pistols were available in the late 60's early 70's?

Pics would be cool too if you have them.

funny you ask. I was at the range yesterday and it was just me and an ol timer. He had a smith and wesson model 59? Cant remember of the top of my head. He said it was from the 70's.Looked a lot like a 1911 but shorter barell and 9mm. He let me put a few rounds through it. Nice little pistol. Similar in design to the 1911 and my beretta 92f. He even had an old Ruger .22 pistol from the 70's too.

My dad had one of these from WW2 and it was the first pistol I ever shot, at the ripe old age of 13. I wouldn't touch the ruger blackhawk .357 hogleg he had. The P-38 was awesome!

My wife's grandfather just gave one of these to my brother-in-law. I was a bit jelous to say the least! :)
