I've got a caldwell rifle mounting. You're right that no way would it work for a pistol. I've also seen the ones which strap to your wrist. Sounds terrible to me.

Yeah, your solution sounds the best, by far. Even when I've spread a tarp, collected brass after every magazine and taken all precautions, it seems like I indubitably lose almost one piece per mag fired. At the local indoor range, the RSO helps out if he's not too busy! But I still lost one or two, even shooting the DEAGLE on a darn near clean area, and no one else in a lane. But 48 outta 50 was not bad, not bad at all. 44mag is easy to spot in a sparse collection of 9mm and 380acp, too. It will always find a nook, cranny, or even a leaf to hide under. Pix of this hockey net set would be awesome but it's sounding like an easy to execute, realistically cheap solution. When I was an industrial strength hobbyist hot-rodder, I used to sandblast lots of parts. I made a sand catcher that funneled the loose sand back into my bucket, saved lots of time!! Just had to shovel every few days to catch the sand that escaped. I should build a mobile version of that for my home range...

BUT!!!!! It won't work if the pistol ejects too close to vertically. Unless you figure out a way to hang a baffle over your gun?
You can set it on a bench, mount it on a tripod, it works easily, for rifles or handguns, holds a pile of brass, doesn't mess with the cycling, and is easy to unload.
About $53 at Amazon, and worth it, especially if you do it BEFORE you've spent $100 on three other options that never quite work.

I was afraid of that. Guess you could go gangster style and angle the gun sideways?
Or....you could put it on a tripod and angle the head so so it's OVER your gun.....might drop brass all over you though.
I guess part of the reason is that I don't shoot off a bench very often anymore. Trying to run drills is impossible with it
I wish that would work for the 5.7! You're right though, when we use 5.56 most of us use the steel. Lately I've been using the .22 conversion kit in mine (makes everyone think I'm running suppressed
) or I run my 9mm build

After 14 days of waiting for the distributor, Sportswarehouse, to deliver the item to the carrier, I canceled the order. I had used Amazon. I think Sportswarehouse is the official U.S. distributor for ADE but I'm looking around at other options.
If I can't find a good option for the ADE NUWA I might give up and go with something else such as the Romeo ZERO. I guess we'll see what I can find.

I have a stigmatism , the regular Red Dots tend to be a blur for me. I look for optics with "the doughnut of death".

I've heard of them. Typically in the "entry level" category. But I've been watching the name brand grow and it looks like they're trying to do what Taurus did with the GX4: get their foot in the industry door with entry level then pump the quality and compete with mid-range products. It looks like this NUWA and some of their more recent products are trying to go that direction.
I have age related presbyopia so a reflex sight makes a lot of sense for me. But I get the issue with astigmatism. Some folks make cross-hair reflex sights too, but I'm not sure how common they are. What I like about this NUWA PRO is that it has a 66 MOA doughnut. As I'm training with it, if I don't have the 3 MOA dot in the window, I'm almost certain to have part of that gigantic ring and will know which way to move it to find the dot and start training myself to have it in the window from go.

I've picked up a couple Swamp Fox reflex sights , I've been pretty happy with them on my carbine and crossbow.

Damn that's a lot of brands...
But they are definetly smack dab in the middle of the pack in my opinion. If you take into account warranty there are only 5... Vortex, Holosun, Trijicon, Burris and Swampfox. That is some pretty good company if you ask me.
While the others state "lifetime warranty" it is never for their micro red dot series... most are 1-3 years... for the "electronics" portion while glass and housing are "lifetime"... The ones I mentioned above are lifetime no questions asked, or I am 99% sure they are lol

Still following this thread with interest. However my interest is somewhat different. My idea is first, a range toy, second, bushcraft/foraging, third, social work. It is important for me that magazines interchange between the carbine and pistol. So I would pretty much be looking at the Ruger LC carbine and 57 pistol. And it would effectively replace my Ruger PC Carbine and American pistols. Plus I already have a bolt action rifle for the Armscor 22TCM, I have been sourcing a 1911 22 TCM pistol, but none of my normal sources can get me one. I am on the list at my favorite LGS. It surprised me how many people want one, I am number 4!
I still worry about reloading. As a range toy I go through a lot of 9mm. Itâs an easy task to sit in front of my Pro 4000 and turn out 300-400 rounds an evening. And I would have no worries running the 22TCM through the Pro 4000, although itâs a single stage proposition for me now as I donât really shoot that much of it now. But I have loaded enough that I am comfortable with it. I would simply back of the charge a bit. Today I load it to the ragged edge, everything is weighed. Honestly I doubt I would go through as much ammo, considering the rifle would be a bolt action. Even with the 18 round mag installed!
The 5.7 would be a different story. With a handful of 20 round magazines ammunition could go away quickly. And with the horror stories I hear about reloading the cartridge, no, it just aâint going into a progressive.
I am thinking the PC Carbine and American Pistols are probably the most practical for me. The Armscor boltie and 1911 would max out the cool factor, especially for a 1911 fan, while the 57 pistol and LC Carbine would bring me into the 21âst century.
