While I'm not going to SHOT this year, this revolver pictured on the show planner caught my attention. Personally, I see it as a niche firearm with a not too bright future. But it IS interesting and if you're heavily invested in .38 SPL or .357 Mag, it might scratch yer itch. That is, if you got an itch.

A whole new sort of break top!

It's actually an incredibly cool idea. A revolver that lets you use a two handed grip, doesn't lose any pressure to the gap, and has no exposed hammer.

But fast reloads might be hard since the top of the cylinder is blocked. :(

It would be super cool if the cylinder was like the inside of a rotary mag, and could be fed from below, from a mag, and then dump empties out the side of the shroud. Of course, that would change the balance they are so proud of.

Is this even real? I saw it on another forum about a week ago. Just looking at it I am not interested at all. I see powder burns.

It was posted that it was a hoax. Built off of California laws. No firing pin and guaranteed not to fire. CA Compliant

I don’t know . This is the second time I have seen it on a forum. Never seen a write up or review.

I saw this on another forum. It is definitely interesting in that it's weird and different. But I think it combines the worst elements of a semiauto with the worst elements of a revolver. Outside of being different I don't think it really brings much useful to the table.

But they're definitely neat. :)

Peace favor your sword,

Well, Zenk is in Booth 41051 at SHOT, so in about 12 days we'll know if it's real, or if it's nuthin' but smoke 'n mirrors. Granted Zenk is on the 1st Level, which is where most of the small guys go.

Yup I was wondering the same thing, and I figured it was a spoof of some sort.
Then I found out they had a booth at SHOT, which makes it a bit more real.

I'm still wondering how they eject the cases

History repeats itself???
By any chance do you guys remember the USFA ZiP 22? Ten years ago, it was damn near impossible to get to the USFA booth to look at one; throngs of people were three deep. After all, it was an interesting li'l pistol, but to your point, Moonzie: "Why?" Rumors on the SHOT floor were already circulating about the FTF issues at range day. I was stunned -shocked, actually- to see that to cock the ZiP involved putting your hand way too damn close to the barrel. (All I could envision in my mind was a brace of lawyers licking their chops.) Regardless, I still wanted one, just because I like weird pistols. (I never did get one.) In the end, the pistol got a lot of attention but sadly it failed to deliver.
Good article here: What Happened to the USFA ZiP .22?

I think some people are just trying to justify their jobs and not actually making good or practical firearm. Its not like its a brilliant firearm designer coming up with a novel idea. Its more like an amateur engineer getting advice from a 2nd grader because they are worthless and intelligent enough to make a truly brilliant design. We know several people of that caliber that have been here that would qualify for some of the design teams.

I'd be interested to fiddle with one, but that's about as far as that goes.
And THAT's what's fun about going to SHOT show or the NRA convention: Lots of firearms and accessories to look at and fiddle with.

Conversation piece at the range...
Kinda like those taurus life cards. We both have one because they were on sale and it was a frivolous gimmicky expenditure that if it comes down to the point where we actually need them we are probably already screwed, but what the hell? Nice thing about them is the extreme concealment capability but that's about it.
