Don't make him guilty of crap. The FBI can seize all your computers in an investigation and still find nothing incriminating. It does suck tho.

His buddy got busted and probably said something stupid that made them think Jarred was involved. I'll save any judgement till they open his laptop and actual naked children fall out.

I did put a question mark in the title. Ignore the fact that he used to run a porn video rental shop...............

    I hope he's a DeMoCrat!

He ran his own legal business? Well shame on him. Was a rather lucrative business to be in for awhile. Until free internet porn killed it off.

    Dang!

The former President (Russell Taylor) of his Foundation is involved in kiddie porn!

What do you want to bet Jared's computer's are infected with the same crap?

Jared is married and divorced and married again - has two children.

  6. Yes, because all people who have anything to do with other nude adult human beings depicted in print or film are kiddie porn connoisseurs.

I'm still trying to figure out if you really just said that or my eyedrops had dumb in them. :p

Apparently, it's not uncommon for child molesters to have children of their own.

    Correlation does not imply causation.

I'm from the, currently quite unpopular, school of thought which believes that guilt should be ascertained first before judgment is passed.

Let the investigators and courts do their job. If he's actually guilty, then convict him and toss him in jail. Otherwise, let it be.

I'm just curious about how his foundation's president 's illegal activities have anything to do with the computers in his home.

Kiddie porn requires "rings" and darknet to survive in the U.S. They need compatriots to get access to their preferred pornography. It's difficult and dangerous to make connections; they don't know who they can "trust." If they already have a friend, then they are more likely to be able to trust them. All of the guy's friends and close associates are likely under some level of investigation.

In today's internet society, it is not uncommon to 'take one's work home' with them.

That said, it's like Kirk said, everybody related (work, friends, family) to the perpetrator is under suspicion.

    Sad state of affairs...

Not too mention they require access to remote computers and servers to distribute.
Wouldn't be unusual to 'borrow' other people's computers for the dirty work.

I have a friend who's laptop was infected with a server virus. When he found kiddie porn hosted on it, he turned it in to the police. Because local police are over-burdened and underfunded in the subject of technology crime, they had a-hold of his laptop for months without returning it to him. I advised him that they should be able to clone the drive and use that for evidentiary purposes, returning his laptop to him in a reasonable period of time. I advised that if he wanted to recover his laptop while it was still covered by extended warranty that he needed to demand its return, which he did through his lawyer.

I know that he eventually got his laptop back, but only through the machinations of his lawyer and that it was, thankfully, cleaned of this particularly egregious form of malware. I don't know what, if any, was the outcome of the investigation of said malware. Likely the information was passed up the chain to the FBI.

    +1

+2, but I hope he is not able to "buy his way out of it" if he is indeed, guilty.
My prior statements about his character mean nothing, just something I had
heard when I lived in Bloomington. I also used to drive by the first Subway
that made this "dummy-d!ck" famous in the first place. Never cared for that
particular series of commercials, even though I liked the message it illustrated.
One thing that I see as a distinct possibility, is that once the profits of the porn
industry began to wane, some remaining players would tend to migrate towards
the fewer remaining streams of income, the more perverse stuff and possibly the child porn :(
