This is a really cool article. We can actually photograph molecules now.

All I know is that is cool as nuts! If that's what we can do now, I have no idea what's next.
kinda like looking at an ultrasound picture. i guess you gotta know what you are looking at for it to be really interesting. I'm sure the parents are proud though.
thats a five carbon atom chain hydrocarbon, created by the elbs process. crrenntly pentacene is mostly used as an organic semiconductor in experiments.

Man, that's pretty dang cool! [/geeking out]

I used to do PC support for Mike Davidson, king of photomicrographywebsite, out at the Maglab, so I grok the significance.
amazing!!
That is pretty freakin' cool!
The scary part:

The were able to do this as early as 3 years ago

Somewhere, someone is working on a design that everyone here combined wouldn't be able to wrap their head around.... Be it military, a university research group, or some guy in a workshop in Norway who just came up with this killer idea and a buddy of his at a research lab/factory/CNC shop let him borrow some stuff....
Wow it is literally mind blowing to think of whats to come or is here that we just don't know about yet.
Yea neo that's the way i always think.oh by the way im not smart in science that much
so dont see why that molecule is cool but i might be immpressed if they capture an atom,
unless they already have.i have a random question that i could never get an answer to though.
you know when you watch vids of a nucler bomb going off,why does sets of lines always appear
beside the blast?
I know the answer to that!

They would set off smoke pots to send a nice clear straight column of smoke straight up or fired rockets that produced smoke trails prior to the test. That way they could see the shape of the shockwave as it disturbed the smoke columns.
That's awsome!thanks alot.im thinking about it and seems almost
impossible to shoot rockets up nearly as fast as the blast.im going
to watch some more videos because i dont see any rockets.
the rockets were shot prior to the detonation. usually 30-45 seconds prior. most film doesnt show them, it just shows the lines. they were also used to measure the physical size of the blast as well.

Ok here's a good example. and on some vids are just some little smoke balls.

What's cool about this is that now they can SEE alterations to the structure of materials on the most basic of levels. This could open up a whole new world for materials fabrication by custom-making stuff from the smallest component possible, and to SEE it as a direct result.

A molecule is a group of atoms together, what do you mean by capture an atom like get a mouse trap and put some electrons under the wire and wait for an in complete atom to get attracted to it?
capture it like they did the molecule.will they start making molecule shirts or pants lol?this
is scary in a way if they could make nuclear button up shirts.would'nt want to hit those butons.

Yeah "Oh crap, missed a button"... BOOM!

HAHA i know right?
