I'm on vacation until the 16th and am spending as much time as I can relaxing with my favorite past time. For my first trip I decided to use the weapons of the Eagle ( US ) and the Bear ( Russia ). For the Eagle, I decided to go with a favorite of mine; the 1903A4. And representing the Bear, I decided to use the Mosin Nagant I customized some time back. I recently changed out the scope on the Mosin Nagant to a Nikon M-308 as the one I originally put on it had a nasty parallax issue at higher power. I'll post the results in two separate postings here to make it easier for those who might be on a low bandwidth connection. .
That 03A4 is utterly ridiculous. I'll give ya a hunnert bucks for it. But seriously, is it the OEM barrel? I'd guess it was rebarreled before it was released from service, but one never knows. Sweet shooting, regardless.
You guys sure know how to drive up a price. I doubt we could buy that scope for tree fitty. Is it a repro?
No sir, it is an original Weaver M73B1 issued with the rifle. The only thing that is not original to the rifle is the barrel that was changed out by the armory prior to it being released. The original barrel would have been a pre 6/43. The rifles SN is in the 341xxxx range as it should be. The old girl don't get out as much as she should, but when she does get out she sure can dance. .
Dude, that is seriously too cool. That's like a Z/28 with the right 327 and the correct wheels, with a factory replacement cam. You just never, ever see one, someone always feels the need to do something to try to make it "better". Well that old girl is as good as they get. Congrats.
