Thinking about getting a used 995-B

I was in one of our local pawn shops yesteday, and they have a used 995-B with scope for $149.00, which does not seem like a bad deal when you consider Hi-Points Warrenty that these have.

This is the same as I had on duty in my county patrol car with exception to ours was the 995-CMO. I learned to like the 995-CMO simply because of ease of use, but detested that we could not get extended magazines for a higher firepower above 10 rounds.

I also did some searching and found 15 round mags for the 995 at:

http://www.promagindustries.com/highpoin.asp

So it looks like I will get the 995-B after all

I will have to run the ammo thru my Chrony F1 to see just what kind of FPS we're getting in the 9mm with a 16.5" barrel.

Stay away from the POS Promag 15 rounders. You might get them to work if you are mechanically inclined, others around here have. Yet many others have the ones they bought sitting in the gun lockers because the mags refuse to work properly.

Now, 149.00 is a pretty good price on the scoped 995-B. I'd pick it up and send it in to Beemiller for an overhaul.

Yep, I already read a review since my post on the 15 round mags... not worth the $29.00 if there is feeding problems. Just wish someone would make a proper spring or Hi-Point would just come out with them and make us all happy.

Who is Beemiller just in case I run this for a test drive, as I am on my way over to pick it up.
The 995 is worth it. But yes the ONLY down side is capacity. That is all. :p:)

Now I am a very happy camper

Here is a pic of my new/used as it looks like it was not fired much at all. In the box is the front and rear sight, with slings and all factory paper work as well. You see the price tag, but here is the sweetest deal of all.... I paid only $135.00 OTD :p

Now I got to find some more mags for it as it only came with the one, but I ain't crying over this deal.

good deal. They run A lot but more in my neck of the woods.

I am more then sure you will not have buyers remorse. The carbines kick butt.

Yep, it was a very good deal since they had a NIB one for $179.99 with no extras on it. I figure the only changes I will probably make is a red dot on top instead of having a 3x9x40mm scope. But we will see how it shoots and accuracy @ 100 yards first.

Here is what I actually would like or something very simalar:

Just take your time. You may decide you like the Irons.

I put a red dot on my old 4095 and found out I perferd the irons. However.

Yep, However's. I am always looking to possibly change my setup once more. SOme day possibly. To many projects in the works and not a one finished to satisfaction.

HA, >>> I can't get NO.<<< Crap now that song stuck in my head........

(I CAN'T GET NO) SATISFACTION
(M. Jagger/K. Richards)

I can't get no satisfaction
I can't get no satisfaction
'Cause I try and I try and I try and I try
I can't get no, I can't get no

When I'm drivin' in my car
And a man comes on the radio
He's telling me more and more
About some useless information
Supposed to fire my imagination
I can't get no, oh no no no
Hey hey hey, that's what I say

I can't get no satisfaction
I can't get no satisfaction
'Cause I try and I try and I try and I try
I can't get no, I can't get no

When I'm watchin' my TV
And a man comes on to tell me
How white my shirts can be
But he can't be a man 'cause he doesn't smoke
The same cigarrettes as me
I can't get no, oh no no no
Hey hey hey, that's what I say

I can't get no satisfaction
I can't get no girlie action
'Cause I try and I try and I try and I try
I can't get no, I can't get no

When I'm ridin' round the world
And I'm doin' this and I'm signing that
And I'm tryin' to make some girl
Who tells me baby better come back later next week
'Cause you see I'm on losing streak
I can't get no, a no no no
Hey hey hey, that's what I say

I can't get no, I can't get no
I can't get no satisfaction
No satisfaction, no satisfaction, no satisfaction

Less than 40 bucks at sportsmans guide, I just ordered one and am waiting for it. I like the multiple reticles like you have pictured.

Beemiller is the carbine factory that is like a subdivision of Hi Point.

You can always call the main Hi Point number and they will steer you to the right one of their factories that make their products for help.

Good steal....I mean score!!

I prefer the iron sights, allways have but thats just what Im used to I guess, I do OK. I would like to try a red dot, they do look badass with them.

In the box, you see 2 plastic bags. In one was the factory sights, and webbed strap with swivals etc, and in the other bag is a Uncle Mikes web strap w/detachable swivals.

I will be trying my 995 with and without the scope, we will see.
G
Well tonight I showed the 995 to my brother in law, and he said he had a BSA Red Dot, so I told him that I thought the Simmons scope was a bit much on the 995, so we swapped... he's happy and I sure am real happy
