A man in Texas was applying for a job with a Sherrifs Department. He had filled the application out, and the last question was, "Have you ever been arrested"? His answer, "No, I robbed a gas station once but never got caught". He was immediately arrested and booked.

A man in Florida spanked his son one evening as punishment for misbehaving. The next morning the son reported this to his teacher who in turn reported it to the police. The father was arrested and booked for child abuse. On the booking sheet on e question asks your religion, the man answered "Atheist". Later as the detectives were taking his statement, they asked why he spanked his son. He replied, "I wanted to put the fear of God in him".

Don't understand how they could do that to the guy in the first story. Wouldn't they need some EVIDENCE?

Some would argue that a first-party admission to perpetrating a felony was evidence enough for an arrest... conviction, however would take more. Like, being able to show that the court in that jurisdiction had venue to hear the case, etc.
