I am new to shooting and went into Turners (California), to buy a HP 9mm pistol (after seeing Turner's in the "dealer locator" section of the HP website).
Turner's told me they didn't sell any HP firearms and that they were not even legal in California. I asked why and the salesman told me that HP firearms were too small for California approval??
To me this didn't sound like it could be completely true. I wanted to ask if this is accurate, and if not can anybody recommend a shop in the Los Angeles area that does sell? If it is true I'll have to start thinking about something else...

There are some, or were, don't follow kalifornia that close, issues with the carbines NOT with the pistols and thats the first time I've ever heard a hi point described as "too small" do some checking, sounds like the guy is smoking some kalifornia grass to me.

The Turners in Pasadena has had them many times. Their online ads show Hi-Point pistols on sale every few weeks. The only calibers they seem to sell are the 9mm and 380acp.

Not listed as a problem on gunbroker for PRK. God how do people tolerate living in that socialist utopia.

Yes, HP's they are legal in California. I'm i Northern California and there are stores in the Sacramento area that carry them. You can always look on the State Registry for approved handguns and if you do you'll see that the .380 and the 9MM are approved.

Only the C-9 and CF-380 are allowed. None of the other Hi-Points are allowed. My local Turner's usually has them in stock.

Just a quick update - Today I bought a C9 in Turners Pasadena. I asked them why the first store I went to couldn't sell them and apparently it's true that they are too small to be sold in LA City, and apparently so are holsters?! Crazy huh? Makes absolutely no sense at all... but anyway that's the story behind it. Oh $169 plus tax etc, seems steep but hell... in the great scheme of things...

The simple solutions are always the best.

Maybe if enough people left they would get the idea? Never mind not that bunch.
