Thats an early design of what would become a Hi Point C9. Stallard and Haskell are two companies that the modern Hi Points derived from.

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t a Stallard the same thing as a Hi-Point. In 1993 MKS Supply, Inc decided to stop marketing Stallard as a separate company and started labeling it Hi-point. But I would agree that the Stallard handgun was a very simple gun.

Just saw a .45 last week with that same heel mag latch, but it said Hi Point, and the slide looked just like the newer ones...
And I really don't think that 9mm is ugly at all? Almost like a Tokarev, but not...?

There are a few expensive pistols that are uglier than HP's. I think the Springfield XD is hidious, it is way worse than HP's. I think the C9 is a snazzy looking pistol.

It's nice to see that the "modernized" C9's have American-style controls. I noticed the dalan-ish EU style mag release on the heel and wanted to die, a little.

The heel mag release is VERY comfortable if you want to transition your pistol's mag into your hand. Sadly, we're all children of John Wayne, we wanna see them thangs DROP, man! :cool2:

it might make a difference to the intruder.who wants to die and at that knowing your about to die from an ugly gun.note im a hp fan.

Not to offend any High Point fans (Hey, I'm one too), but...um...heh heh...HP's are pretty damn ugly.

But who would want a shiny, pretty work of ballistic artwork that couldn't hit the broad side of a barn? My C-9 is ugly...in a deadly/beautiful sort of way. Like Jill Valentine.

Since I'm just getting into this hobby of gun collecting and shooting... Could you guys please explain to me what constitutes "UGLY" in a gun???

I just don't get it. I can understand issues of comfort, reliability, ammo availability, noise, accuracy, kick, size, capacity, upgradability..... I can even uderstand a preference for a particular color... but I don't get the ugliness factor.
