same here. We need to either switch to a mod approved member system or get rid of the 60 second waiting period for reporting posts/threads.
The problem with most of the spam threads is that they are getting smarter. I can't touch anything in the Marketplace or Forum Announcements Area. I've asked Shooter to talk to the other mods and bump me up from Archive Monkey to full Mod if they need the help but haven't heard anything back yet. I'm getting what I can get as soon as it gets reported or I see it, but some of it is in off limits areas. What we need, if possible, is to start a thread where we take note of all the names of the spammers so Shooter, or whoever has the power, to do IP bans until a more viable solution can be figured out.
I have already suggested the best solution, but it may be beyond the technical expertise of the admins. I said to disable the link feature for those with less than, say, 10 posts. Most of these spammers have 1 post, but I have seen some with 2 posts. When I was a mod @ Imhoteps, we did not have that type of control, but I did not have an admin control panel. Common Features may be universal. Lockouts apply to forums such as "for sale" postings...
