Dallas is at about 8f-10f. Had about 6 inches of global warming fall last night. Whole damn city is paralyzed.

Just a normal day here. Schools wouldn't even cancel.
Oh yes. This will be remembered as "The Great Storm of '21." For years folks will be reminiscing about where they were during this time. In 9 months babies will be born with names like "Storm", "Snow", and "Ice." In some places power has been out for minutes!!

Wife is getting pictures from some of her friends in Dallas this afternoon. Ice and snow.
Yes. But not enough to worry about here. Drive slow and easy and I don't see the problem. I've been in Dallas a few times in the Winter over the decades. For me, it was easy driving. I just didn't try to drive 70mph plus on the Interstates with ice and a bit of snow on top. Locals there have no common sense on this type of driving as far as I am concerned.
Oh yeah, car accidents all over yesterday. Today everything is closed so not as many. Most everything will also be closed tomorrow. I do have to venture out for a few things but I have AWD so not so bad.

People in Dallas can't drive when the sun is shining, and the roads are dry...
Yep. And most of them are the damn transplants trying to turn the state purple.
...the morbidly obese women in SUV's...
You mean Fat Chicks in their Karen Cars.

Can't say what I think.
I understand.
Blue skies and mid-90's through next week here in Dallas. We were busy as heck the last few days and I talked to a few folks who came in. They said lots of people were evacuating from Louisiana in anticipation of Ida. Nice to have the business but I hope their homes are OK.

@TNTRAILERTRASH Maybe it'll get Nancy in DC
Hopefully a house will land on her, her feet will curl up and she'll never be seen again. Ah, one can only hope.

'Wintry mix' expected here in Dallas today, slowly turning to snow. Accumulation probably an inch or so. It will paralyze the city. People are already storming the grocery stores for 'supplies.' LOL.

Welp, got up this morning to 1"-2" of snow. Dallas has come to a standstill. Nothing is open so I have the day off. American and Southwest have temporarily cancelled all flights out of Love and DFW. Temps in the low 20's and teens. No traffic on the streets at all. Non-stop news of the 'snowpocalypse' and 'snowmageddon' on the tube.

Ya' know, Texans are a strange lot.... most of the time we are a tough as nails, independent, strong willed, and determined bunch of folks. But 1" of snow turns everyone into a bunch of pussies. I moved here from California 27 years ago and have traveled all over the US during winter and seen people in 2-3-4 feet of snow going about their business. They may grumble a little but they still got lives to lead. Here in Texas 1" of snow halts ALL human activity. Go figure.

Its a balmy 34° out today. It was nice being outside in a cheap zip up hoodie and no gloves.
What? No parka? :giggle:

Typical Ohio weather.

But so many people are acting like the world is ending. I don’t know if it’s just propaganda or if it’s just there’s so many people who haven’t lived here very long.
Maybe a little bit of both. But there have been climate Chicken Littles for centuries, it's just ramped up in the last 50-70 years because they have found out ways to monetize it. You don't think Al Gore got to be worth $300 million because of his sage political insights do you? But I suspect that climate hucksters on both sides will exist ad infinitum as long as they can separate a sucker from his dollar.
