AWD works great for me. In deep snow I can switch to 4WD on my Hyundai SUV. And I don't have snow tires even. Slow speed in this type of weather if you have to go out is
what we do.

I do have to venture out for a few things but I have AWD so not so bad.
Yep. And most of them are the damn transplants trying to turn the state purple.People in Dallas can't drive when the sun is shining, and the roads are dry...
I was thinking the morbidly obese women in SUV's that never look up from their phones.Yep. And most of them are the damn transplants trying to turn the state purple.
Now that I do not believe. 30 years ago people there drove far to fast for conditions. Especially icy roads.Yep. And most of them are the damn transplants trying to turn the state purple.
You mean Fat Chicks in their Karen Cars....the morbidly obese women in SUV's...
I wonder how those self-driving cars are faring. The dangerous conditions are the drivers. Lol
Can't say what I think. You mean Fat Chicks in their Karen Cars.
Ohio wussed out.Just a normal day here. Schools wouldn't even cancel.
When I was in grade school in the metro Boston area, there was one town -Reading- that almost never called off school. Rumor was the school superintendent hailed from Maine. More than once the "no school" announcements over the local radio station went "All schools closed today, except Reading".Ohio wussed out.
Locally, the Dayton "Metro Area" schools are all closed and they even closed WPAFB. I thought that was silly. I get closing stuff last night while it was coming down. They closed all of the local YMCA branches down early (6PM) for the snow. That was the right decision. But they had all night to catch up on treating the roads. SWMBO harassed me into taking a sick day because "the Base is closed so it's currently too dangerous for you to go in to the Base to work." Oh well. I've got more than a week of Sick time anyhow. Still felt "wrong." I hate taking Sick time. Don't like taking Vacay either unless I'm actually going somewhere on, well, vacation. I used to work with a gent who would take an occasional "Mental Health Day," burning some of his Sick but I never liked doing that. When I was in grade school in the metro Boston area, there was one town -Reading- that almost never called off school. I saw a twitter post yesterday with a picture labeled "Blizzard" and it was barely a snow flurry LOL When you have to stick your head out the car window to watch the center line as it sometimes appears from under the snow you are in a blizzard... can't see past the end of the hood a blizzard...Unless its a full on blizzard. We go out every day for coffee and a drive. Thats zero visibility not just snow for you southern folk.
Snow is OK, especially now. Don't have to go out in it. Cold sucks. Period. Love to visit Moonz sometime, but not in winter!! Subzero bite bad! Ice is the worst, thoughSounds like the classic New England "wintery mix". I miss snow and cold weather, but freezing rain and ice, not so much.
